Hi, my name is
Minh Tran.
Greenfield or inherited codebase — I own the product either way.
React/Next.js · Elixir · Go · Fintech · 11 years
I own features from React/Next.js frontends down to fault-tolerant Elixir and Go backends — real-time pipelines handling 200k+ concurrent events at sub-100ms latency, and frontends serving 8M+ monthly visitors — with 8 years leading teams and staying on as the last line of defence in production. Remote from Vietnam, available worldwide.
Available for Senior Full-Stack Engineer roles — remote worldwide.
Based in Vietnam (GMT+7) and comfortable working remote within overlap hours for US & EU teams. I keep work async-friendly: sharing daily status updates and preparing meeting agendas to keep the team aligned. 01. About Me
I'm a Senior Full-Stack Engineer and Technical Lead based in Vietnam with over 11 years shipping across the whole stack, and 8+ years leading cross-functional teams. My stack is React/Next.js and TypeScript on the frontend, Elixir/Phoenix and Phoenix LiveView on the backend, and Go for services — I own features end-to-end, from UI and API design to database and deployment. I build systems that stay correct and fast under real load — and I obsess over the failure modes everyone else finds out about in production.
For the last 8 years I've worked through Dwarves Foundation, a software consultancy, which has let me go deep on hard problems across very different domains — fintech trading, a national marketplace, logistics, B2B SaaS — while owning architecture and delivery on each. The throughline is the same: I'm the person teams hand the ambiguous, high-stakes systems to, and I stay with them long enough to lead the migration, fix the incidents, and mentor the engineers who keep them running.
At hedge.foundation I built a per-user trading engine that runs 50–100 Binance accounts per user, each as an isolated GenServer, so one account's failure never touches another. The hardest scenario it survives: bursting 300 positions closed and reopened across hundreds of accounts at once, fronted by a rate-limit-aware execution layer that pushes tens of thousands of API calls per second without dropping an order. I also built the backtesting engine on top of 1B+ historical records, running strategy simulations in parallel. The platform's frontend was mine too: a Turborepo monorepo of four real-time Next.js trading apps, kept responsive under high-frequency market data by a Web Worker-based realtime engine and a shared Storybook design system of 20+ components.
At Kafi I work full-stack across the whole service layer — Elixir/Phoenix, Phoenix LiveView, Go, and React/Next.js — not just the backend. I tuned PostgreSQL queries from 800ms down to 150ms on tables with 50M+ rows. Before that I owned the desktop frontend in the Next.js modernization of Mudah.my, Malaysia's largest e-marketplace at 8M+ monthly visitors, lifting its Lighthouse performance score from the 60s into the 90s and backing it with 300+ Cypress end-to-end tests.
I'm available for remote work worldwide from Vietnam (GMT+7), comfortable working async, and keep healthy overlap with US and EU hours. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science (Honours) from the University of Science Vietnam.

04. Writing & Proof
Most of my best work lives behind production NDAs, so here's how I think and what I ship in the open — a live product I built and run, write-ups on the systems and incidents I handle day to day, plus code on my GitHub.
DocShare
docshare.gatetroy.comA collaborative HTML-review app I designed, built, and host: paste or upload HTML, collect comments anchored to each block, diff versions as a rendered redline, and export the whole review thread as a single AI prompt. Next.js, real-time collaboration, email-based sharing.
Why Our Analytics Dashboard Is Phoenix LiveView, Not React
The default for a financial analytics dashboard is a React SPA talking to a JSON API. We built ours in Phoenix LiveView instead. Here's the reasoning: real-time updates for free, one source of truth on the server, computing where the data lives, and far less code — plus an honest look at where LiveView is the wrong call.
Scaling a Real-Time Trading Platform with Elixir and OTP
A case study on the real-time backbone of a crypto and forex trading platform: thousands of accounts, each with its own live exchange connection, all needing sub-second position and alert delivery. How Elixir/OTP — one supervision tree per account, ETS for hot state, and a backpressured event pipeline — made that reliable at scale.
Why I Built DocShare: Reviewing HTML Docs With My Team and AI
As a tech lead I write specs, reports, and diagrams in HTML because AI edits it cleanly and cheaply — but reviewing HTML with non-engineers was painful. So I built DocShare: paste HTML, share by email, collect comments anchored to each block, and export the whole thread as a prompt to fix the doc with AI.
Handling Production Incidents in My Daily Work
How I detect, triage, mitigate, and resolve production incidents on my own — even when I'm the only person online, in a different timezone from the rest of the team.
